Liepaja Technology Cluster’s Meeting at Liepaja

The founders of the Digital Innovation Park – Liepaja University, Giraffe360 and Digital Innovation Park – invited information technology professionals to the first joint meeting in the big hall of Liepaja City Council on October 2. In this event three Liepaja University teachers were honoured for a long-term contribution to the development of IT and creative industries:

  • Dzintars Tomsons was granted for the development and establishment of IT study programmes, the development of IT skills for teachers and entrepreneurs and the establishment of Young Scientists School and  the promotion of the cooperation between university and entrepreneurs.
  • Inta Znotiņa was granted for developing teachers and school students programming skills.
  • Jānis Jankevics was granted for developing the young student skills in the area of video and animation.

During the meeting the audience was presented with the objectives of the cluster, the benefits of membership and the upcoming activities.

Liepājas Technology Cluster forms the city's IT community so that the industry could develope even more rapidly. One of the advantages of joining the cluster is a mutual cooperation, for example, professionals have the ability to get additional orders. Similarly, there are important issues and mutual support among industry professionals and companies that enable cluster members to strengthen the technology sector in Liepaja.
