2nd International Week: Exchanging Expereinces at Liepaja University

From 14 - 17 May 2019 Liepaja University Foreign Affairs department for the 2nd time was organizing the 2nd International Week: Exchanging experiences. This year LiepU hosted 40 participants from 17 countries: Germany, France, Belgium, Uzbekistan, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Turkey, Austria, Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Lithuania, USA, Spain, Portugal, Greece, Romania. 

International Week guests were international department coordinators, administrative staff, teachers - people who are working at their universities with Erasmus+ program or international students. During 3 days seminar program, guests presented their experiences on how to motivate students to use Erasmus+ opportunities, how the information on Erasmus+ projects are dissiminated, what are the credit recognition procedures at different universities.

In the 2nd seminar LiepU Foreign affairs department presented their Erasmus+ projects with Ateneo de Manila University in Philippines and Sinergia University in Bosnia and Hercegovina. With the help of other participants, tips on how to prepare the good Erasmus+ KA107 poposal were definied. Presentations on Sinergia University and Tashkent Textile and Linght Industry Insitute Followed. The last seminar was dedicated to experiences on how different universities are integrating their foreign students from different countries. Professor Albrecht Achim from Westphalian University of Applied sciences in Germany shared his universities and countries experience on how refugees are integrated in the universities. 

Wide cultural program was prepared for the International week guests - the city tour with a guide, networking event with each countries traditional snacks, excursion to Karsota, former military part of the city and visit to tradition house "Namīns" where guests had a chance to discover the rich culture of Latvia. International week participants were also welcomed at the Liepaja city municipality.

International Week was oganized with the financial support of European Commission program Erasmus+ financial support.
