On Monday 26 June at LiepU assembly hall the folk dance group "Staburags" from Brazil, city Ijui was hosted. They have arrived in Latvia to participate in National Latvian Song and Dance Festival.
The head of Liepaja University folk dance group "Banga" Kristīne Kārkliņa was helping to the folk dance group "Staburags" to prepare the dance programme for the festival and LiepU Rector Dace Markus and the delegation from Liepāja visited Brazilian Latvians in October 2022. This is why the meeting with the dance group "Staburags" was so heart warming.
Guests also were introduced with Liepaja University and Liepaja as capital of culture in 2027.
