International Open Days 2022 bring together professors and staff from 9 countries

From 9-11 May Liepaja University after 2 years break hosted International Open Days 2022 event. This year there were 40 participants from 9 countries: Lithuania, Poland, Bulgaria, Mexico, Malta, Dominican Republic, Turkey, USA. In 3 days intensive programme there were different workshops offered - New Erasmus – in which stage is my institution now? Good practices on the quality of Erasmus KA107 partnerships (program countries vs partner countries) and Motivation of students and staff to go abroad – let’s find the unusual ways how to motivate them! - where LiepU staff and guests were sharing the experiences. 

Liepaja University students and International Open Days participants had a chance to attend various guest lectures:

  • Ivan Emilio Jimenez Duran from the Santo Domingo Institute of Technology "Experiences on the Curricula Design for Mechatronics Engineering in Dominican Republic"
  • Angelica Maria Rodriguez Bencosme from the Santo Domingo Institute of Technology "Green Design in the Caribbean: Dominican Republic (a case study)"
  • Solhanlle Bonilla Duarte from the Santo Domingo Institute of Technology  "Urban planning, Climate change and Ecosystem services in the Tropics: case study in cities of Dominican Republic"
  • Eduardas Spiriajevas from the Klaipeda University of Applied Sciences  "Creation of Story Maps Telling with ArcGIS Online: from Functions to Content Design".

During the week, guests had a chance to experience a rich cultural programme: excursion to former Military part of the city – Karosta;  discovered the interior of the 17th-19th century in the new museum “Margaret Hoijer’s guest house and pub”.

Event was organized with the financial support of Erasmus+ programme.
