LiepU reinforces the cooperation with the Faculty of Electronics and Informatics at Vilniaus Kolegija

Yesterday Liepaja University representatives (Chief specialist of International Relations Department, lecturer Patriks Morevs, Head of High Performance Computing Center, and lecturer, PhD Maksims Žigunovs and International Coordinator Sintija Leigute) visited the Faculty of Electronics and Informatics and the International Relations and Project department in Vilniaus kolegija / University of Applied Sciences (VikO) in Vilnius, Lithuania under the Erasmus+ staff mobility.

The visit included meeting with the dean of this Faculty Assoc. Prof.dr. Romanas Tumasonis, Head of Technology Department, Associate Professor, PhD Eugenijus Mačerauskas and Head of Partnership and Projects Department Vytautas Lauciūnas where were discussed the ideas of a joint Summer school between both institutions, the research related to High Performance Computing and Maths, possible projects in IT, LiepU lecturers' participation in International Teaching Week organized by VikO, the necessity of a student scientific conference, exchange of student internships in both Heis, regular teaching mobilities, as well as expanding the Erasmus+ partnership agreement by including the field of Information Technology. The meeting was followed by a campus tour in different laboratories of IT, Robotics, Physics and Electronics, as well as in student on-site classes where showed the different equipment and in the Museum of Electronics. In the end followed a meeting with International Relations and Projects department where were discussed the possibilities of common staff training mobilities in both Heis and more active cooperation under Erasmus+ study and internship exchange.
