LiepU ranked in the THE Impact Rankings 2021

Five Latvian universities, including Liepaja University – ranked in the Times Higher Education (THE) University Impact Rankings 2021, released on the 21st of April 2021.

THE University Impact Rankings show how the global higher education sector is working towards the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It captures universities’ impact on society based on institutions’ success in delivering the 17 SDGs, reflecting work done and highlighting significant endeavors that are not rated in rankings of other classifications, providing comprehensive and balanced comparison across four broad areas - research, stewardship, outreach, and teaching.

Liepaja University is ranked in the group of 801-1000 and has entered THE Impact ranking for the first time. The best result has been achieved in the category of “Sustainable Cities and Communities” (301st -400th place), then comes the “Gender Quality” (401st -600th place) and “Responsible Consumption and Production” (401+ place).

The overall ranking is led by a UK university for the first time - the University of Manchester. Three Australian institutions complete the top four - the University of Sydney, RMIT University and La Trobe University.
