Professor from National & Kapodistrian University of Athens gives lectures remotely

In the frame of the European Social Fund project No. 8.2.2.0/18/I/003 “The perfection of academic staff of Liepaja University in the areas of strategic specialization – speech therapy, preschool education and primary education” from 1st August 2020 Maria Vlassopoulos from Greece has started to work at Liepaja University. LiepU guest professor, researcher at National & Kapodistrian University of Athens School of Medicine will work with study program’s “Speech Therapy” bachelor level students and will do a research together with LiepU leading researchers.

In this academic semester Maria Vlassopoulos gives lectures to “Speech Therapy” students on “Different diagnosis in multilingual language disorder” in an amount of 3 ECTS. First classes has been held remotely as professor now is in a self isolation after arriving at Liepaja.

LiepU students studying in the areas of strategic specialization – speech therapy, preschool education and primary education – in the frame of this project has already improved their knowledge to three foreign professors: Antonio Chichella from Italy, Rakesh Dubey from India and Ekaterinas Protasova from Finland. Thus, students have the opportunity to listen to professors who come from very different countries. The involvement of foreign academic staff in LiepU academic work and scientific research in strategic areas of specialization is one of the objectives of the project, which allows the LiepU to ensure the quality of the content of these areas and to extend the international partnership network.
