Liepaja University activates cooperation with Lithuanian universities

Liepaja University has always maintained a close relationship with universities in Lithuania, but now we have strengthened our relations with several universities in Lithuania, with numerous travel restrictions being introduced worldwide and the planned mobility being cancelled. During the summer period, International relations department staff has visited Klaipeda University, Vilnius Technical University, Klaipeda University of Applied Sciences, as well as Lithuanian Business College in Klaipeda. Also have to add that few new media arts students in the autumn semester, will spend their Erasmus studies in Vilnius Academy of Arts.

Successful collaboration has been developed with Klaipeda University of Applied Sciences (KVK), since this university has found internship placements for two LiepU students – one student spends summer practice in Klaipeda Tourism Office, while the other student has just started IT practice in this university, helping to facilitate the work of the college's external relations. Two tourism management students from KVK are currently helping to host guests from Lithuania at Liepāja tourism office and Karosta prison, while mechatronics student is working on the development of an automatic product packing device together with LiepU researchers.

Similarly, during the autumn semester, a number of internship mobilities in cooperation with Lithuanian Business College are scheduled – the college students will spend their first practice at Liepaja University.
