Bologna University Professor gives lectures to Master's degree programme “General education teacher” students

In the frame of the European Social Fund project No. 8.2.2.0/18/I/003 “The perfection of academic staff of Liepaja University in the areas of strategic specialization – speech therapy, preschool education and primary education”, Professor from Bologna University in Italy - Antonio Cicchella – already eigth month is giving lectures and doing research work at Liepaja University.

This semester, Professor lectures the students of the Master's degree programme “General Education Teacher”, in the framework of the study course “Educational Management”. The course covers topics such as teaching philosophy and historical aspects (Northern Europe / Western Europe, USA / China), the Bologna Process, the European Qualifications Framework, the integration of higher education in Europe, and other issues related to education management.

The professor himself mentions that he likes Liepaja very much, with many historical and even mystical buildings, the history of which he would like to learn more. For students, professor says they are mostly already working and experienced teachers, so he thinks their level of knowledge is very good. At first, the teacher had to get used to working with fewer (nine) students, since in Bologna University he usually lectures from 50 to 100 students in one audience.

Currently LiepU students studying in the areas of strategic specialization – speech therapy, preschool education and primary education – can improve their knowledge to three foreign professors: Antonio Chichella of Italy, Rakesh Dubey from India and Ekaterinas Protasova from Finland. Thus, students have the opportunity to listen to professors who come from very different countries. The involvement of foreign academic staff in LiepU academic work and scientific research in strategic areas of specialization is one of the objectives of the project, which allows the LiepU to ensure the quality of the content of these areas and to extend the international partnership network.
